A Full Cup of Echinacea Tea

After the tempest, when he found himself possessing life, though other lives were lost, Gonzalo said it," Be merry. You have cause...of joy...Our hint of woe is common...weigh our sorrow with our comfort." My father said it differently, "If you want something to cry about; I'll give you something to cry about." Common advice recommends  perceiving the glass half-full, instead of half-empty. Is the glass ever half-full on top? It's always half-full on the bottom. If you were a little person perched on the edge of the glass, planning to dive through the emptiness into the fullness, you might think twice before you broke your neck. Is it alright to want a glass full and overflowing? How do I turn away from loss and towards thankfulness; to hold grief in one chamber and joy in another; negative and positive, past and future; bitter and sweet; to subtract my losses and count my blessings? A friend said, "Echinacea tea is good for heartbreak." I think I'll make myself half-a-cup.
